How to Make a Cherry Blossom Bow Holder

image

Hey everyone so awhile back (June) my last math assignment was to learn how to make a picture frame. So as you can see in the picture above, that’s the frame I turned into a bow holder because I didn’t know what to with it. So I hope you enjoy this tutorial it’s a bit text and picture heavy.

Now before we get into anything, I just wanted to sate that if you go on Google and type in how to draw or paint a cherry blossoms, you’ll find all sorts of techniques.  If you don’t find mine very suitable  then try practicing what works for you.

Okay so lets start :)

What you need:

  • Blank Picture Frame, could buy it store bought or you can make your own like I did.

  • Acrylic Paint or Cabochons if you want to decorate it.

  • Nail art or paint tools

  • Ribbon

  • Super Glue

  • And a bow you can get from Afua Handmade ;D

Step 1: Paint your picture frame a base color if it don’t have the one you liking (I used white).

Step 2: Mix a 1:1 ratio of black and brown paint.

Step 3: Paint lines on to the frame, create two or three connecting to each other and this will be your branch. Remember to them curved so they look realistic.

Step 4: Mix a 1:1 ratio of white and red paint.

Step 5: At the the end of each branch, paint a dot a few centimeters away, then go onto paint 5 petals around the dot. Also paint tiny petals all over the frame.

Step 6: Use yellow paint to dot in the center of the flower, then use your finger tips to flatten the dot of paint.

Step 7: Mix a 2:1 ratio of white and rosey paint.

Step 8: Paint in your flowers with a top layer of the new mix, the original petal color should paper as a thick outline.

Step 1: Take the ribbon and measure out the inside of the frame, with your eyes or with a ruler (I used my eyes because I was lazy)

Step 2: Cut the ribbon and glue in to the inner part of the frame.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the amount of ribbon you want covering the frame.

Step 4: Cut and excuse ribbon off the frame.

Step 5: Now the last step which I didn’t, is to make a back cover if your picture frame didn’t come with one. For this you can cut out cardboard,  card stock or felt paper to the size of the infer frame and glue it.
